History of Science and Technology Master’s Programme (MA)
Overview
The aim of the History of Science and Technology Master’s Programme is to give advanced level education to students in history of science and technology and develop their independent scientific research skills. The programme considers the history of the natural sciences and formal sciences, as well as the scientific institutions and technological evolution while taking account of the contributions of different civilizations. The formation of modern science in Europe, the industrial revolution, the history of Turkish science and technology, the development of science and technology in the Islamic world, the evolution of engineering and technology, the institutionalization and the dissemination of science are fundamental issues.
Graduates’ Working Areas
Students who successfully complete the program will be able to work in museums, science centers and archives, and they will be able to continue their careers in academia by means of doctorate programmes.
Audience
The Graduate Programme is interdisciplinary structured, therefore, it aims not only the graduates of the engineering and natural sciences departments of the universities, but also the students who come from the humanities, social sciences, and art fields, university graduates working in techno-universities and private sector, as well as non-governmental organizations, and wish to conduct an empirical research university graduates.
